Jermaine Stewart - We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off

The late Jermaine Stewart was born in 1957 in Columbus, Ohio; he began as a dancer with the popular group Shalamar. His transition as a solo artist came in 1984, and he burst on the scene in 1986 with his #5 hit "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off." "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off has an infectious beat filled with memorable hooks. This was one of the only Pop songs my mother enjoyed with us kids due to its message of not having to do the "Nasty" to have a good time. Stewart had all the makings of a Popstar; with his good looks, amazing smile, and upbeat singing, he should have reached the top spot with this amazing song.

Although some in radio love to classify Jermaine as a one-hit wonder, he did have a #21 hit with Say It Again in 1987 but could never find the magic of "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off."

We lost Jermaine at the young age of 39 in 1997 due to complications of AIDS-related liver cancer. He was a talented performer taken from us way too soon. We miss you Jermaine.
