Don Henley - Dirty Laundry

As I mentioned yesterday, April is an emotional month for me. This week marks the 23rd year since I lost my dad, and this week, I am going to be featuring songs that my dad loved. Today, we start with the classic track "Dirty Laundry" by Don Henley. My dad loved this song and would sing it in a style he could only sing. I have such vivid memories of Big Mike singing, "Kick 'em when they're up, Kick 'em when they're down." My dad was not as passionate about music as I am, but he had his tracks, and we shared a love for this classic #3 hit.

"Dirty Laundry" is a track that demonstrates the media and our love for the negative in our lives. My dad would be horrified to learn that, after 40 years, this song is more relevant than ever. This masterpiece correctly depicts the state of our media and, I think, how most people feel about it. I live for the music, not the drama! I feel that we will never be able to return to honest journalism, stories of hope, stories of love. Look at our choices of TV Shows, Movies, and Videos. "Dirty Laundry" is winning. Have we learned anything?

I miss my dad, and I know he would be horrified by the state of the world. If he were here today, we would sing this loud and proud.

I miss my dad.
